Warning on hot chocolate drink product containing glass fragments

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) today (March 29) advised people not to consume a certain batch of Green & Black's brand organic hot chocolate drink product as they might contain glass fragments.

The CFS also appealed to the trade to stop selling the product.

The affected product is Green & Black's Organic Hot Chocolate Drink (300g), carrying the lot code 'L7348' on the top of the lid. The product's best before date is Nov 2009.

According to the UK authorities, the company concerned is recalling the affected product.

"The CFS will contact the UK authorities for further information. We have alerted the trade and are closely monitoring the situation," a CFS spokesman said.
