Warning on bottled mineral water suspected of containing foreign matter

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) today (January 9) advised people not to drink a certain batch of bottled mineral water as the product might contain foreign matter.

The affected product is "Pere Ocean Mineral Water" (500ml) with expiry date of 09.12.10.

"We also appeal to the trade to stop selling that particular product," a CFS spokesman said.

He said the appeal was made as the Singaporean authorities had alerted consumers not to consume the affected product.

"The CFS has contacted the Singaporean authorities for more information. We have alerted the trade and are closely monitoring the situation," the spokesman said.
