In view of Japan's discharge of nuclear-contaminated water since 24 August 2023, to enhance transparency, CFS reports the food surveillance results of imported Japanese food on CFS's website on every working day starting from the same day.

Radiation testing on Japanese food has been subsumed under the routine annual food surveillance programme starting from 1 January 2021. The CFS releases the results in the monthly "Food Safety Report". In the event of adverse weather, the daily report may be postponed to the next working day.
