Reason For Issuing Alert

The prepackaged ingredient for making thin pizza was found containing milk protein, a food allergen, without listing the presence on its food label.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety

CFS staff have conducted investigations at the concerned shop and other branches of the chain store, and found that the sale of the product has been stopped.

Warning letters have also been issued to the concerned vendor and the importer. The trade will also be alerted to stop selling the affected product.

The CFS will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.

Stop selling the concerned product.

Advice to Consumers

Those who are allergic to milk protein may develop symptoms like vomiting, diarrhoea and rash, upon consumption. The severe ones may even develop anaphylactic shock.

Consumers who had bought the particular product and were allergic to milk protein should stop eating it, regardless of any batches.

People should seek medical treatment if they feel unwell after eating the food.
