Reason For Issuing Alert |
- The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) is proactively following up on an incident of alleged unhygienic processing of pickled vegetable products as reported in media. The CFS's initial investigation showed that some of the affected products had been imported to Hong Kong.

Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety |
- Upon noticing recent media reports on unhygienic processing of pickled vegetable products, the CFS immediately liaised with relevant Mainland authorities, conducted investigation and contacted local major importers for follow-up. The abovementioned products have been imported to Hong Kong.
- The relevant vendors have stopped sale and removed from shelves the products concerned. The CFS has also taken samples for further testing.
- The CFS will continue to follow up on the incident and take appropriate action.
