The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) takes notice of the recent Avian Influenza incidents in Oudewater Municipality, the Netherlands and the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. While pending for the notifications from the World Organisation for Animal Health (now known as WOAH, and formerly known as OIE), the Centre has been liaising with the related authorities for detail information and the trade was notified to avoid importing poultry and poultry products including eggs from the affected areas.
CFS would closely monitor the latest development of the incidents and take appropriate action accordingly.
