According to press release of Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine, Taiwan dated 3 August, there was an outbreak of H5 highly pathogenic avian influenza in Taitung County. Hong Kong has not established import protocol with Taiwan for importation of poultry meat and import of poultry eggs has been suspended since 12 January 2015. The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) would closely monitor the latest development of the incidents and take appropriate action accordingly.
