Republic of Korea poultry import applications resumed
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) announced today (July 13) that the processing of applications for importing poultry and poultry products from the Republic of Korea would resume with immediate effect.
The Centre suspended processing of applications in November last year, following confirmation of a highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 case in a poultry farm in the country.
"In view of the control measures taken by the Republic of Korea and the fact that there are no other cases of avian influenza reported, we decide to resume processing of applications," a CFS spokesman said.
