Updates on CFS' follow-up with oyster supplier

In response to media enquiries about the follow-up with the oyster supplier, a spokesman for the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) said today (September 13):

"Results of tests available today on 20 oyster samples collected earlier from the supplier (Pearlwin Limited) indicated that all the samples were free from Norovirus nucleic acid.

"We have informed the supplier and distributors concerned of the test results, and would release the some 500 boxes of oysters that were marked and sealed earlier. As a precaution, we have also required them to put a label, before selling these oysters, that the oysters must be thoroughly cooked before consumption."
