Alert on Lipton milk tea powder
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) was informed by Unilever Hong Kong Limited today (September 30) that the company would recall four batches of Lipton milk tea powder.
According to the company, it has identified melamine through internal quality checks.
The affected products are:
Lipton Milk Tea Powder Original (17g x 20 sachets) - Best Before Date: 17112009
Lipton Milk Tea Powder Gold (18.5g x 10 sachets) –Best Before Date: 17112009
Lipton Milk Tea Powder Gold (18.5g x 20 sachets) - Best Before Date: 18112009
Lipton Milk Tea Powder Gold (18.5g x 20 sachets) - Best Before Date: 19112009
"We appeal to the public to stop drinking the products concerned. We have alerted the trade and asked them to stop selling the products. We will collect samples for testing and are closely monitoring the situation," a CFS spokesman said.
Unilever Hong Kong Limited is recalling all the affected products. The company has set up a consumer careline (Tel: 2892 3110) for enquiries.
