Processing of Republic of Korea poultry import applications resumes
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) announced today (July 9) that it had resumed processing of applications for importing poultry and poultry products from the Republic of Korea with immediate effect.
The CFS suspended processing applications from the country in April last year, following confirmation of a highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 case in Cholla-Bukdo.
"In view of the control measures taken by the Republic of Korea and the fact that there are no other cases of avian influenza reported, we decide to resume processing applications," a CFS spokesman said.
