To work in conjunction with the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food on encouraging the public to reduce dietary intake of salt and sugar, the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) updates the Training Package on Nutrition Labelling and Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food (Training Package) in 2017 and adds information on energy requirement as well as health impact due to excessive intake of salt and sugar. The Training Package is produced to strengthen understanding of nutrition labelling, energy requirement, and importance of reducing salt and sugar in food among education stakeholders, including teachers and personnel of community organisations, and to assist them to promote the practical ways of using nutrition labelling as well as reducing the intake of salt and sugar to students and the public. The package is in bilingual form (Chinese and English) and includes the following items:

- Worksheets

Education stakeholders can make reference to the proposed training plans and make use of the training props, training videos, worksheets and resources produced by the CFS to raise target audiences’ interests and to enhance their knowledge on nutrition labelling, energy requirement, and importance of reducing salt and sugar in food , as well as, skill on using nutrition labelling.

Workshop on Training Package on Nutrition Labelling and Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food
In order to let education stakeholders to grasp the skills of applying the training package in their workplaces as well as to enhance their understanding of labelling, energy requirement, and importance of reducing salt and sugar in food, the CFS has also organised Workshops on Training Package on Nutrition Labelling and Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food. Public individuals are also welcomed but priority will be given to staff of community organisations. For interested parties, please complete and return the enrolment form to the CFS via mail or fax.
