The Veterinary Public Health Workshop
Veterinary Public Health Workshop 2011
This year, the Centre for Food Safety proudly presents the Veterinary Public Health Workshop 2011 with the theme "One Health: One Medicine". "One Health" is an emerging concept aiming to improve human and animal health globally via enhancement of collaborations and communications between the medical, veterinary and environmental sectors. The strategy has been adopted and endorsed by various governmental and professional institutions worldwide, especially in the United States, Australia and Europe in tackling the public health challenges.
The Workshop will be held at the Central Library in Causeway Bay on 12th and 13th December 2011. During the 2-day event, we will explore the "One Health" idea in a systematic approach, since the concept is relatively new among the local public health professionals. We will be honoured and privileged having guest speakers from Mainland China, Denmark, United Kingdom and the United States to provide us with their expertise, experience and insight on this important public health issue.
