Reason For Issuing Alert | The concerned product contained plasticiser di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) at a level of 8.7 ppm. DEHP is a plasticizer and has been found to cause damages to liver, kidney, reproduction and development when given to animals in large doses. |
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety | Instructed the importer to stop sale of the affected products. |
Advice to the Trade | Stop selling the concerned product. |
Advice to Consumers | Stop consuming the concerned product. |
