Reason For Issuing Alert | The concerned products contained plasticiser di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). DEHP is a plasticizer and has been found to cause damages to liver, kidney, reproduction and development when given to animals in large doses. |
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety | CFS has contacted the importers, “O’FARM LIMITED” and “Velement International Co, Ltd“ immediately. The two companies have stop selling the affected products. “O’FARM LIMITED” has started recalling the relevant products since end of last month. CFS has urged the “Velement International Co, Ltd“ to actively recall the affected products. Continue to investigate the case and closely monitor the follow-up action taken by the importer. The CFS will take samples for testing and conduct checks at retail outlets. |
