Reason For Issuing Alert | The Centre for Food Safety (CFS), through its Food Incident Surveillance System, has learned of the notices issued by the UK FSA and FSAI that Marks & Spencer has initiated a recall of the above-mentioned batch of product because the product might be tainted with chemical contamination. According to the information provided by the importer, 18 units of the above-mentioned product have been imported to Hong Kong which were only for sale in its retail outlets. The importer has already stopped sale and removed from shelves the affected product, and initiated a recall. |
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety | Upon learning of the incident, the CFS immediately followed up with Marks & Spencer, the importer of the affected product in Hong Kong. |
Advice to the Trade | Stop using or selling the product concerned immediately. |
