Reason For Issuing Alert
  • The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) received a notification from the importer that the above-mentioned product did not indicate the best before date according to the requirements stipulated in Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations (Cap. 132W).
  • For the sake of prudence, the importer has voluntarily stopped sales and removed from shelves the affected product and initiated a recall.
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety
  • The CFS will alert the trade, continue to follow up on the incident and take appropriate action. Should there be sufficient evidence, prosecution will be instituted. Investigation is ongoing.
Advice to the Trade
  • Stop using or selling the affected product immediately should they possess it.
Advice to Consumers
  • Not to consume the affected product.
  • Members of the public can identify the affected product from the package without the best before date and batch number.
