Product Name and Description | Product name: "Pauls Fresh Milk" (packing size: one litre) and "Harvey Fresh" Fresh Milk (packing size: one litre) which are to be used by September 6 and imported by the same importer from Australia. |
Reason For Issuing Alert | The Centre received six complaints about strange taste when drinking the above-mentioned products and hence started investigation. According to the information provided by Nowaday International Development Limited, the importer concerned, they also received similar complaints and took the initiative to stop sale of the products. |
Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety | The CFS has instructed the importer concerned to recall the two batches of affected products. The two batches of products were believed to be stored in the same container while being shipped to Hong Kong. For the sake of prudence, consumers who have bought the affected products should stop drinking them. The CFS will alert the trade to the incident. The trade should also stop selling the affected products. The CFS has informed the Australian authorities of the incident and is tracing the distribution of the affected products. The Centre will monitor the recall of the affected products, go on with investigation including the cause and take appropriate follow-up action (including adjusting the scope of recall). |
