Methodology
1. Selection of chemical substances 2. Development of a TDS food list 3. Food sampling 4. Sample preparation 5. Laboratory analysis 6. Dietary exposure assessment 7. Publication of results Dietary exposure assessment
Estimate dietary exposure of the population
- Estimate the dietary exposure by combining food consumption data and chemical substance concentration data.
- Estimate the dietary exposure for average and high consumers of the Hong Kong adults aged 18 or above and younger population aged 6-17.
Assess the associated health risks
- Compare the resulting dietary exposure estimates of the chemical substances against their respective health-based guidance values (HBGVs) or other toxicological reference values as appropriate.
